Warsaw
You can be here in June for about €1,115, 4 days, 1 stop.
Why now
Good time in June: 24°C days, 13 rainy days.
Late spring to early autumn is the season for the Vistula's riverside bars and beaches and the Łazienki Chopin concerts on Sunday afternoons; winter is cold and the museums are the point. Hotels are busiest on weekdays with business travel, so weekends are cheaper.
Best months here: May, June, September. Daytime highs, sea temperature and rainy days from three years of Open-Meteo reanalysis; a rainy day is one with at least 1 mm of rain, which is the WMO threshold and not the same as "it drizzled".
The place

Warsaw was flattened in 1944 and rebuilt three times over: a reconstructed old town, a Stalinist palace and socialist boulevards, then a skyline of glass towers over the last twenty years. It is not pretty in the way Kraków is, but it is the country's real capital, with the best museums, restaurants and nightlife, and suits people who like a city with energy and unfinished edges.
What you can do

- 03Take the lift to the Palace of Culture's 30th-floor terrace for the towers and the whole flat city.
- 04Walk Łazienki park to the Chopin monument and the Palace on the Isle; free piano concerts in summer.
